Antica Corte Pallavicina

A visit to the Antica Corte Pallavicina starts surprisingly from the vegetable garden, one passes through the archway to enter the large courtyard where a small door leads into the charming kitchen with its coffered ceiling and continues into the elegant frescoed rooms, once the residence of the Pallavicino Marquises from the 13th to the 19th century.
In autumn and winter the fireplaces burn poplar wood and on the first floor the rooms of the Relais Antica Corte Pallavicina - Dormire in Castello are ready to welcome guests to stay overnight on the Great Po River.
The cellars - where the Pallavicino marquises used to age cured meats - are now full of Culatello: a must-see in the Culatello and Masalén Museum! The Museum is a piece of history that can be relived among old maps, pictures, curious postcards, films and objects related to farming traditions.

The Museum has an open-air extension called "Po Forest": a fascinating route through the floodplain woodland that leads to the wild rearing of black pigs.
Around the Antica Corte you can see cows of ancient local breeds and farmyard animals.
In addition to guided tours, the Castle on the Po offers the possibility of: events, sleeping in the manor, celebrating weddings and ceremonies, hosting business meetings and conferences, vintage car and motorbike rallies, concerts, themed dinners and lunches, and art exhibitions.
The Antica Corte Pallavicina, in Emilia, is part of the circuit of the Castles of the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza and Pontremoli.
